On Tuesday, July 21, Tennessee Governor Bill Lee announced $150 million in funding for grants that will be provided to Tennessee nonprofit organizations to address the impacts of COVID-19. The grants will be available for nonprofits addressing the continuing economic and health impacts of the coronavirus pandemic.
Organizations that will be eligible for funds include nonprofits that support public health, disabled or at-risk groups, and educational needs of school-aged children and families.
Instructions for applying for a grant will be provided on August 1. Eligible organizations should apply quickly to receive funds.
Nonprofit organizations with fiscal years ending June 30 have probably already planned their 2021 budget, but if approved for a grant, budgets may need to be revised. It may also be necessary to re-examine budgets from a compliance standpoint, especially if organizations will serve as grant administrators.
